New Feature Release: Patient Appointments - This new feature will allow appointment dates/times to be set for patients as well as send reminders for upcoming appointments. This feature will be replacing the Next Visit Date patient field.
Patient Appointments Usage
Patient Appointments is a new feature that allows users to setup upcoming patient appointment dates/times as well as send out reminders via SMS and email to patients. The Appointments feature will be replacing the Next Appointment Date field that was previously used to track a patient's next appointment.
1) Creating an Appointment
From the Patient Profile select the Appointments tab and then click "Create Appointment"
On the Create Appointment form you can set the Date & Time of appointment. - NOTE: Timezone will default to the user's current timezone set under Home -> My Settings.
The Purpose is a free text field you can add a description for the appointment.
Notify Phone and Email will send notifications if populated based on the settings below.
Send Reminder Now or X Days Before will send a reminder SMS/Email to user.
You must check the "Consent for Notification" before the notification function will work. This consent should be obtained from patient per your normal patient communication consent forms.
Notified option can be selected if the patient has been notified via an alternate channel.
Confirmed option can be checked if the patient has confirmed the appointment. Patient's will also have the ability to confirm using links in SMS messages and Email.
Canceled can be selected if the patient's appointment has been cancelled.
2) Viewing Appointments
Appointments can be viewed from the Patient's profile on the Appointments tab:
